BYB League is an independent basketball organization owned and operated by Bermuda Youth Basketball (BYB). It provides structured leagues, training, programs and events for youth, teen, and young adult athletes, combining skill development, competitive play, and exposure opportunities.
The BYB program focuses on teaching the eight essential basketball skills: footwork and body control, ball handling and dribbling, passing and receiving, shooting, rebounding, screening, as well as offensive and defensive concepts. This well-rounded approach ensures that young players build a solid foundation in the sport, setting them up for success as they progress in their basketball journey.
The opportunity for players to apply these skills in real game situations is invaluable. It not only helps improve their physical abilities but also enhances their basketball IQ and decision-making skills, which are crucial for becoming well-rounded players. Engaging in real game scenarios allows players to understand the practical applications of the skills they’ve learned, accelerating their development.

BYB Open Gym Runs: Ages 14+ No reservations, loosely organized half/full court runs, call own fouls, win by 2, winner stay on. basketball workouts, coaches available, players must present ID and sign player waiver form. Entry fee $10

BYB LEAGUE TRAINING CAMP
Once registered players will go through skill assessments focusing on the eight essential skills needed in basketball.
Players will be placed on teams after training camp ensuring that talent is evenly distributed amongst teams to ensure competitive balance.
GAME LENGTH
All games are regulation 16 minute halves stop clock with a 24 second shot clock
REFEREES
All BYB League games, tournaments and events use in house referees
STATISTICS
BYB games are compiled using the latest stat tracking technology in real time.
Based on divisions the following stats are taken:
BYB League, BYB 25U: Points,Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, TO, FTA/FTM, FGA/FGM
AWARDS/ TROPHIES
Championship team will receive 1st place medals and presented BYB Finals Trophy
Runner ups in each division will receive 2nd place medals

BYB PROGRAMS IN DEPTH

BYB DEVELOPMENT
Age:10-13 yrs old
Program is divided into three terms Fall, Winter, Spring
Players learn the eight essential skills needed to play basketball as well as learn offensive and defensive concepts and how to apply it to game situations
REGISTRATION FEE $180.00
This fee covers expenses for the gym, first aid, referees, uniforms, trophies, medals and prizes
BYB LEAGUE
High School Division
Age:14-18 yrs old
Eighteen week program: 10-game season, 2 week playoffs
First and second seed receive first round bye
Each team will have a maximum of 10 players
Players are provided with BYB Jerseys
REGISTRATION FEE $200.00
This fee covers expenses for the gym, first aid, referees, uniforms, trophies, medals and prizes.m

PARTNERSHIPS
BERMUDA BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
In 2023 BYB partnered with the Bermuda Basketball Association by providing an evaluation platform thru the BYB League for the BBA to view, select and train players who may have potential at the junior national level.
GLOBAL EDUCATION SPORTS PARTNERSHIP
In 2024 BYB partnered with Global Education Sports partnership (GESP) to provide an avenue and a platform for local youth players to gain valuable exposure to US and Canadian boarding schools basketball programs. We hold an annual showcase in the winter for coaches to work with our players in hopes of them advancing their athletic and academic development overseas. The 2024 showcase placed five student athletes in USA boarding schools.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
INFORMED CONSENT AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT/ PLAYER LIABILTY WAIVER
I assume all risk and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities, and release, absolve and hold harmless Bermuda Youth Basketball (B.Y.B.), in addition to all its respective officers, agents, and representatives, from any/all liability for injuries to said child arising out of traveling to, participating in, or returning from selected camp, season and/or program session.
There is a risk of being injured that is inherent in all sports activities, including basketball. Some of these injuries include, but are not limited to, the risk of fractures, paralysis, or death. In case of injury to said child, I hereby waive all claims against Bermuda Youth Basketball, including all coaches and affiliates, all participants, sponsoring agencies, advertisers, volunteers and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event.
I hereby give my approval for my child’s participation in any/all activities prepared by Bermuda Youth Basketball during the selected camp/program. In exchange for the acceptance of said child’s candidacy by Bermuda Youth Basketball. I fully give permission to the registered player(s) to participate in any/all activity provided by Bermuda Youth Basketball. I agree that all staff of Bermuda Youth Basketball will not be held responsible for injury to the registered player(s) as a result of participation in any Bermuda Youth Basketball leagues, camps, training, terms, seasons, events or programs.
MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION
I certify that the participant is physically capable of participating in basketball activities. I authorize Bermuda Youth Basketball staff to seek emergency medical treatment if necessary in the event of of injury or illness when a parent or guardian cannot be immediately reached.
I understand that any medical expenses incuured will be the responsibility of the participant or parent/guardian.
MEDIA
I understand that, under the service of Bermuda Youth Basketball, pictures and videos are solely for the use of Bermuda Youth Basketball's advertisement and promotion.
PARENT/GUARDIAN AGREEMENT
By reading and agreeing to these terms and conditions. Parents/guardians agree to drop off kids 10 minutes prior and pick up no later than 15 minutes after scheduled times. Family and friends are encouraged to stay and provide support to the student-athletes participating. We kindly ask that spectators/supporters respect the players, coaches, referees and volunteers before, during and after game play. The use of abusive/profane language, drugs and/or alcohol strictly prohibited. Persons will have to leave the gymnasium if agreement breached. No pets allowed inside the gymnasium.
COVID
• COVID-19 testing of participants is a parent responsibility, not a responsibility of B.Y.B.
• Stay home if you are sick. Participants are not eligible to participate if they have symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19
• Take care of your health. Wash your hands frequently. Do not share food, drinks, personal utensils or similar items.
• Monitor your health daily and immediately self-report to B.Y.B. staff any COVID-19 symptoms that arise.
• Do not bring or send youth to B.Y.B. if they have symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19
• Promptly retrieve youth from camp upon notification from any source, that they are exhibiting symptoms, have tested positive for COVID-19,
REFUND POLICY
If you need to cancel a registration, for any reason we will refund you in full up until 5 calender days prior to start date of the event
Medical issues/death in the family refunded except $75 admin fee, even within five days of event.
Medical issues will require a doctors note.
No refunds issued after the start of camp/event/league.
